Digital society and economy to Europe's citizens: the First Digital Agenda for Europe

Published on 2011/6/15 (2322 reads)

The Digital Agenda for Europe is the European Union's road map for bringing the benefits of a digital society and economy to Europe's citizens. But it can only deliver if all stakeholders are involved in assessing problems and identifying solutions.

The main objectives of the Assembly are to:

- Assess progress to date on delivery towards the Digital Agenda's goals and actions and seek ways to improve delivery;

- Identify challenges ahead for the implementation of the Digital Agenda and for the information society in general;

- Mobilise stakeholders' actions to make further progress and address challenges.

The European Commission has therefore invited a broad range of participants from industry, the research community and NGOs, as well as representatives from Member State governments, and the other EU institutions to assess progress in meeting the targets of the Digital Agenda. This, first Digital Agenda Assembly takes place in Brussels on 16th and 17th June 2011.

Programme

The Assembly will be a mixture of workshops, designed to identify solutions to specific challenges and plenary sessions designed to synthesise the discussions and identify the way forward. View the full programme online or  download it here (pdf, 1MB).
